Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
Main duties of the job
What You'll Be Doing:
You'll work under the guidance of the Cyber Technical Lead and Information Security Officer, supporting both technical and operational cyber activities. Your day-to-day will include:
- Monitoring and responding to security threats
- Supporting threat hunting and vulnerability assessments
- Triaging and resolving user requests via the IT Service Desk
- Assisting with compliance tasks like DSPT submissions
- Collaborating with technical teams and external partners
- Helping to improve our cyber security posture across the Trust

Job responsibilities
Primary Duties & Areas of Responsibilities
- Monitor, analyse, and interpret security alerts and incidents from Trust security systems, including identifying compromised systems, abnormal user behaviour, and missing or outdated security controls(e.g., antivirus not installed or outdated).
- Provide cyber security guidance to D&I technical teams, supporting the identification and remediation ofvulnerabilities.
- Escalate critical security issues to relevant UHP D&I cyber security personnel, including actionablerecommendations for resolution.
- Ensure timely communication of potential cyber threats to the IT Services Senior Cyber Team.
- Perform regular vulnerability assessments across all networked devices using appropriate tools andtechniques and manage identified risks within agreed timeframes or implement suitable technicalmitigations.
- Support the preparation and submission of assurance evidence for oversight committees, DSP Toolkitreturns, and other audits.
- Collaborate with the cyber security team to prioritise and respond to service requests, investigations,planned maintenance, and ad-hoc information queries in a timely manner.
Other Responsibilities
- Participate in regular performance appraisals to support professional development.
- Complete all required training to maintain role competency, including mandatory courses such as FireSafety and Manual Handling.
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment in accordance with Trust policies.
- Adhere to Trust Infection Control Policies at all times to minimise the risk of healthcare-associatedinfections.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- Educated to diploma level or suitable occupational demonstrable experience within Cyber and Information Security or Technical Support Services
- Degree in Information Security, Cybersecurity of similar CompTia Sec+ ITIL Foundation (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
Knowledge
- Proven knowledge and demonstrable experience of industry standard technology such as: o Microsoft Windows Client and Server operating systems o Microsoft MDE o Anti Virus Security Solutions
- Proven Knowledge of IT infrastructure including Active Directory, DNS and DHCP
- An understanding of Security Incident Event Management tooling
- Proven knowledge of investigation and remediation of security incidents
- Proven knowledge of investigation and remediation malware infections and outbreaks
- Proven knowledge of cyber-security threat analysis
- Proven knowledge of endpoint and perimeter cyber-security solutions and software agents
- Proven knowledge of the Data Protection Act and cyber-security best practice
- Proven experience of working with service requests and maintaining accurate records for customers and colleagues
- Excellent general IT skills and proven knowledge of wide range of software tools
- LINUX
- Coding Skills such as Python, PowerShell
