This role is suited for someone analytical who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is passionate about solving real user problems, and is ready to add real value within the organisation and to our clients.

  • Ownership of product initiatives across key areas of the VFX platform — including multi-currency accounts, payments, transactions, fees, and operational tooling — spanning multiple user groups (direct clients, API partners, front/middle/back office and compliance teams).
  • Close collaboration and alignment with the Commercial Leads, Operational Leads and Compliance Leads as the key SME.
  • Work closely with current and future banking partners and software vendors.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog to deliver maximum value aligned with business goals.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, marketing, and customer success.

  • Act as the voice of the customer, ensuring user needs are central to product decisions.
  • Lead sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives with Agile teams.
  • Monitor product performance and user feedback to inform iterative improvements using a data driven approach.
  • Communicate product vision, roadmap, and progress to stakeholders at all levels.

Key Challenges

  • Operating within a highly regulated environment while maintaining speed and innovation.
  • Managing competing priorities across stakeholders and domains.
  • Translating complex financial concepts into simple, actionable development tasks.
  • Driving clarity and momentum in a fast-paced, evolving fintech landscape.
  • Ensuring consistency and scalability across diverse product areas.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrates grit and resilience in navigating ambiguity and solving tough problems.
  • Has a strong bias to action, with a proactive approach to delivery and decision-making.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently across technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Thrives in agile environments and adapts quickly to change.
  • Passionate about fintech and building products that make a meaningful impact.
  • Highly collaborative, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Preferred Background:

  • 2–4 years of experience in a Product Owner or similar role, ideally within payments, fintech, financial services, or another regulated environment.
  • Bachelor's degree (2:1 or above) or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Business, Economics, Finance, Information Systems etc.)
  • Exposure to the payments landscape in a regulated environment (e.g. understanding of SWIFT, SEPA, partner banks etc
  • Proven experience managing agile backlogs and working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with financial products, APIs, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., FCA, PSD2).
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills enabling data-driven decision-making.
  • Must have worked within agile frameworks and used tools like Jira, Notion or Confluence.

Success Measures

  • Delivery of high-quality features that meet business and user needs on time.
  • A well-prioritized and maintained backlog aligned with strategic goals.
  • Positive feedback from stakeholders and development teams.
  • Measurable improvements in product KPIs (e.g., engagement, conversion, retention).
  • Compliance with regulatory standards and minimal delivery risk.

PSP & CSOP Details

At VFX, the biggest benefit is the opportunity to act like an owner. Through our Profit Share Scheme (PSP) and Company Share Option Plan (CSOP), every team member has a chance to own a stake in the business and share in the profits.

To show you what that looks like, in 2024, PSP participants received a share of over $1,000,000 USD in company profits. From those profits, more than 80% of eligible VFXers opted to become shareholders — a reflection of the belief and commitment that drives VFX forward.

If you care about building something meaningful, take pride in your work, and are motivated by impact — you'll thrive here.
