The Role

We’re looking for a Business Development Manager to join our founding commercial team. This is a hunter role – you’ll be driving new client acquisition across SMEs and mid-market employers who want to cut costs and hire faster.

You’ll be selling outcomes, not just software: the promise that Via. will fill roles quicker, cheaper, and with better-fit candidates. This role blends recruitment market knowledge with a SaaS sales mindset – ideal for someone who has sold HR tech or has a recruitment background and wants to move into SaaS.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full sales cycle from prospecting through to close.
  • Build a strong pipeline of SMEs and mid-market employers (50–500 employees), initially in London, Manchester, and Birmingham.
  • Sell Via.’s platform value proposition: 95% cost savings, faster time-to-hire, and higher candidate quality.
  • Run structured SaaS sales motions: discovery, ROI case, demos, stakeholder management, and closing.
  • Partner with founders on shaping pitch materials, objection handling, and pricing strategy.
  • Contribute feedback to product and marketing based on client conversations.
  • Help define and refine Via.’s go-to-market playbook for scale.

Ideal Profile

  • 3–6 years sales experience in recruitment SaaS, HR tech, or recruitment services.
  • Proven hunter who consistently meets/exceeds new business targets.
  • Strong understanding of HR/Talent Acquisition buyers – able to sell to HR Directors, Heads of Talent, and CFOs.
  • Either:
  • Ex-recruiter who has transitioned into SaaS/HR tech sales, OR
  • SaaS salesperson with direct experience selling into HR/recruitment functions.
  • Ability to run consultative, ROI-driven sales conversations (not transactional).
  • Entrepreneurial mindset – excited to join an early-stage startup, build process from scratch, and grow with the business.
