Data Analyst (Product & Data Quality)
Data Analyst (Product & Data Quality)
Location: Remote (UK)
Salary: £45,000–£50,000 + benefits (flexible for the right profile)
About the Company
We are an independent, data-led business delivering large-scale eCommerce datasets and analytics to sophisticated, data-literate clients operating in high-stakes environments.
Our core data products have been live and in-market for several years and are now scaling rapidly following a recent spin-out from a larger corporate parent. The business is profitable, growing, and focused on building robust foundations as demand accelerates.
The Opportunity
This is a high-impact, hybrid Data Analyst role sitting at the intersection of data quality, product, and client enablement.
You’ll take ownership of data outputs used by highly analytical end users, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and usability. The role blends hands-on data quality work with direct client interaction and exposure to data pipelines.
Alongside core analytics responsibilities, you’ll be trained as a backup to a senior data engineer, providing operational cover during planned absences. This is not a pure engineering role, but it does require technical curiosity and confidence working close to production data systems.
This role suits someone who wants more ownership, visibility, and responsibility than a traditional analytics position.
What You’ll Be Doing
Data Quality & Analytics (Core Focus) - Own day-to-day data quality monitoring across large-scale datasets - Design and maintain automated QA and validation checks - Investigate and resolve data anomalies and inconsistencies - Develop a deep understanding of dataset structure, limitations, and use cases - Identify insights and data-driven stories that add value to end users
Client Enablement & Support - Act as a technical point of contact for data users - Support clients in accessing, interpreting, and working with datasets - Translate complex data issues into clear, practical explanations
Pipeline & Platform Support (Secondary) - Build working knowledge of data pipelines and delivery processes - Provide operational cover during senior engineer absences - Support monitoring, documentation, and handover processes
Product & Platform Evolution - Contribute to future client-facing data delivery and UI initiatives - Write user stories and support testing for new features - Collaborate closely with engineering and product stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
Essential - Strong SQL and Snowflake skills - Experience working with large, complex datasets - Background in data analytics, data QA, or product analytics (3–4 years ideal) - Comfortable working directly with technical, data-literate users - Able to thrive in a fast-moving, startup-style environment
Nice to Have - Python or scripting experience - Exposure to data pipelines (e.g. Airflow, dbt, or similar) - Experience with dashboards, visualisation tools, or UI-adjacent work - Familiarity with modern AI-assisted development or analysis tools
Mindset & Fit - Strong sense of ownership and accountability - Calm and methodical when handling issues under time pressure - Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn - Comfortable wearing multiple hats in a small team
Working Style
- Fully remote, distributed team
- Flexible working hours balanced with responsibility and responsiveness
- Some afternoon / early evening work to support international users
- High trust, low bureaucracy, and clear ownership
This is not a rigid 9–5 role and suits someone who values autonomy and impact.
Compensation & Growth
- £45,000–£50,000 base salary (flexible for the right candidate)
- Pension and standard benefits
- Potential future performance-based incentives
- Clear opportunity to grow as the business scales
