DevOps Engineer - OpenShift CI/CD Automation
Whitehall resources are looking for an DevOps Engineer - OpenShift CI/CD Automation. This role is hybrid working with 3 days per week onsite in Sheffield, and the remainder remote working, for an initial 3-6 month contract.

Job Description:
The DevOps Engineer will be responsible for designing, automating, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for application deployment on the bank's OpenShift platform. This role ensures seamless integration, efficient delivery, and compliance with security and regulatory standards across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement automated CI/CD pipelines for deploying applications on OpenShift.
- Integrate pipelines with source control systems (eg, GitHub, GitLab) and build tools.
- Implement container image build, scanning, and deployment workflows.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure smooth delivery processes.
- Optimize pipeline performance and reliability through automation and monitoring.
- Manage pipeline configurations and troubleshoot build/deployment issues.
- Ensure compliance with the bank's security, governance, and regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated on DevOps best practices and emerging technologies.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience in CI/CD pipeline design and automation using tools like Jenkins, Tekton, or GitLab CI.
- Hands-on experience with OpenShift and Kubernetes deployment workflows.
- Proficiency in Scripting languages (Bash, Python, Groovy).
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and image registries.
- Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code tools (Ansible, Terraform) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Understanding of security best practices for DevOps and container environments.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
