Senior Business Development Manager / Sales Manager - SaaS

  • Remote role within the UK with some travel.
  • Salary up to 80k DOE plus commission (Realistic OTE 40k)

Our client is seeking a Senior SaaS business development / Sales Manager with a background in SaaS enterprise software, experience in fleet, logistics, or enterprise software is a strong advantage.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead, manage, and coach a high-performing SaaS sales team to consistently achieve and exceed targets.
  • Set, monitor, and optimise team and individual KPIs aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Drive your own sales in a fast-paced, ambitious SaaS environment.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product, and customer success teams to refine go-to-market strategies and revenue plans.
  • Analyse performance metrics and provide actionable insights to maximise sales effectiveness.

Key skills required for the role include:

  • Demonstrated track record of meeting and exceeding team and individual sales targets.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and motivational skills.
  • Proven experience in large customer account management and customer success within a SaaS software business for strategic accounts, continuously balancing company and customer interests to ensure customer success with products and services
  • Proven skills in upselling and expanding client account opportunities.
  • Experience in developing Strategic Account plans to help guide the customer on a successful customer experience, ensuring a mutually beneficial journey and securing long-term relationships.
  • Experience of engaging with stakeholders up to the C-level.
  • Experience ideally in Telematics or fleet management software, or driver software.
  • Ideally, experience in managing accounts for bus/coach fleets or bus operators in the UK is a significant advantage.
  • Experience in Health and safety management and an understanding of the processes surrounding driver behaviour and safety.

Key aspects of the role include:

  • Lead, manage, and coach a high-performing SaaS sales team to consistently achieve and exceed targets.
  • Set, monitor, and optimise team and individual KPIs aligned with company growth objectives
  • Business development; sales opportunities and take part in the sales process.
  • Maintain opportunities within the CRM and provide accurate forecasts.
  • Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction by proactively managing large customer accounts and issues.
  • Gather customer software product and user feedback, communicate it to the various company stakeholders, and serve as the customer's trusted advisor.
  • Develop new relationships within accounts - from bottom to top (able to engage up to C-level).
  • Ensure software renewals are dealt with promptly and efficiently, and seek opportunities to upsell.
  • Execute Product Trials and Evaluations with existing customers and prospective customers.
  • Assist the Finance team with invoice accuracy and payment escalations.
  • Understand the customer organization and the roles and responsibilities of their key employees.
  • Act as the primary escalation point in the event of any issues.
