Technical Project Manager - Network Infrastructure - Contract

WWT EMEA has an opportunity for a detail-oriented and delivery-focused Network Infrastructure Project Manager to lead complex network and data centre infrastructure programmes. This role is responsible for managing large-scale initiatives including network refreshes, data centre migrations, consolidations, and infrastructure modernisation, ensuring successful delivery across technical, operational, and business domains.
The successful candidate will combine strong knowledge of network and data centre infrastructure with proven project leadership and stakeholder management skills, driving delivery within agreed scope, budget, and timelines, while maintaining a strong focus on quality, risk, and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of network and data centre infrastructure projects, including LAN/WAN upgrades, data centre migrations, and infrastructure modernisation initiatives.
- Manage projects involving core network infrastructure components such as routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, cabling, and connectivity services.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, dependencies, and risk registers in line with corporate governance and delivery frameworks.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams spanning network, data centre, cloud, security, and application stakeholders to ensure cohesive and aligned execution.
- Oversee data centre technologies including racks and stacking, structured cabling, power and cooling considerations, network fabrics, and inter-data centre connectivity.
- Manage third-party vendors, carriers, and service providers to ensure delivery against contractual, technical, and operational requirements.
- Lead the migration and decommissioning of legacy network and infrastructure environments, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Maintain oversight of infrastructure environments that may include virtualised platforms, ensuring alignment with overall network and data centre design.
- Provide regular status reporting, issue management, and executive-level communications to key stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of long-term network and data centre infrastructure strategies aligned with organisational and customer objectives.
Skills and Experience
- Senior PM with proven experience managing technical network migration projects.
- Demonstrated success in delivering data centre migrations, consolidations, or hybrid/cloud transition programmes.
- Strong technical understanding of servers, storage, networking, virtualisation, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Experience working within structured governance frameworks and managing complex stakeholder environments.
- Solid grasp of ITIL processes, service transition, and change management best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Jira, or Smartsheet.
- Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile Scrum Master) preferred.
