This is your opportunity to be responsible for establishing, implementing, and continuously improving health & safety (H&S) standards and processes.
Reporting to the Director of Safety, Security and Compliance, the Health & Safety Manager will need to have a strong understanding in legal compliance, implements robust governance, reduce risk in critical environments, strengthens vendor management, and embeds a proactive safety culture across operations, projects, and design and construction activities.
What you’ll do?
- Drive continuous improvement in H&S performance across all data centre locations.
- Opportunities to travel overseas to Polar DC’s facilities and locations in Europe, US and more.
- Act as a key member of the H&S team, consistently demonstrating company values and behaviours.
- Collaborate across different departments to deliver a seamless, integrated service to clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure all safety-related services are delivered to a professional standard, exceeding client expectations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the organisation’s Health and Safety.
- Manage regular Health and Safety meetings.
- Plan and conduct site H&S audits, inspections, and behavioural safety tours; track corrective actions to closure.
- Maintain leading and lagging indicators; deliver regular performance dashboards and reviews.
- Manage incident reporting and investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Requirements and Experience:
- At least 5 years’ direct experience within data centres or similar critical environments.
- Proven track record of operating at multinational organisations across multiple locations, multi-site risk management, contractor control, and incident investigation.
- Managed H&S in mission-critical environments (data centres, pharmaceuticals, utilities, heavy industrial, or complex M&E)
- Strong commercial awareness, understanding the impact of H&S on service excellence, operational costs, and business growth.
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent); working toward NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent highly desirable.
