Contract: Initial 6 months, with potential extension

The Opportunity

An established global organisation is undertaking a major transformation programme to modernise its back-office operations and standardise systems and platforms across its international footprint. As part of this initiative, a newly formed Divisional Data Team has been created to build a modern, enterprise-wide data and reporting capability underpinned by strong data governance.

We are seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to join this team on a contract basis. You will play a key role in transforming data from multiple sources into high-quality, insightful reporting solutions that support management information, financial performance, and regulatory reporting. Working closely with reporting, data, and technology teams, you will help shape a scalable and well-governed reporting environment that supports data-driven decision-making at a global level.

This role offers the opportunity to contribute to a high-profile programme with real visibility and impact, in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Design, build and deliver engaging, interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that clearly communicate insights and support strategic decisions
  • Work closely with business analysts to translate stakeholder requirements into clear technical specifications and reporting solutions
  • Partner with data engineering teams to source, transform and model data for reliable, high-quality reporting
  • Support data governance initiatives by contributing to data lineage documentation and ensuring transparency and regulatory alignment
  • Analyse data to identify trends, issues and opportunities, and present actionable insights to stakeholders
  • Assist with testing and validation of data and reports to ensure accuracy, consistency and reliability
  • Help manage and maintain a portfolio of Power BI assets, including access management, documentation, updates and issue resolution
  • Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across the business and technology teams

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

You will be well suited to this role if you have:

  • Proven experience developing Power BI reports using Power Query and DAX
  • Strong SQL skills for data modelling, transformation and ingestion from data warehouses
  • The ability to quickly understand business needs and deliver production-ready reporting solutions
  • A solid understanding of Power BI best practices, including data modelling, UX design, workspace management, and security (RLS/OLS)
  • Experience optimising Power BI performance to deliver fast, responsive reports
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms (Snowflake experience is highly desirable)
  • Power BI or Microsoft BI certifications (advantageous but not essential)

Familiarity with ERP and enterprise management systems such as SAP, Oracle, PeopleSoft or similar (desirable)

  • Experience working alongside data engineering or DevOps teams (a plus)

Key Behaviours

We are looking for someone who brings both technical excellence and the right mindset:

  • A strong focus on accuracy, quality and attention to detail
  • Confidence managing multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Proactive communication, keeping stakeholders informed and escalating risks early
  • A collaborative, team-oriented approach with a willingness to share knowledge
  • Clear, practical communication style with an emphasis on insight over jargon
  • Curiosity and confidence to challenge existing approaches and suggest improvements
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving, evolving environment
  • An agile, adaptable mindset with a strong focus on delivering value

Working Environment

You will join a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team where individual contributions are valued and professional development is supported. The organisation is committed to diversity and inclusion and will provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process to ensure equal access for all applicants.
