UX Designer - Ops & Regs
Our UX Ops & Regs team is a small but growing squad focused on improving internal experiences for our agents and customers and part of a larger centralised UX function. Our team includes designers at all levels, including an apprentice, and we actively support Women in Tech initiatives. We’re looking for a Middleweight UX Designer who can bring creativity, curiosity, and a user-centred mindset to help shape the future of our internal tools and processes.
Why this role is unique:
Unlike many UX roles, you’ll have the privileged opportunity to sit with our internal teams regularly, getting to know their workflows, challenges, and wins firsthand. This close collaboration means your designs will be grounded in real-world insights and have an immediate impact.
What you’ll do:
- Lead Design Projects: Own end-to-end design delivery, from discovery and research through to implementation.
- Immerse Yourself in the User Environment: Spend time with our internal teams to understand their day-to-day processes, pain points, and successes.
- Create Wireframes & Prototypes: Translate ideas into tangible design assets (prototyping experience is beneficial but not essential).
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery.
- Manage Iterative Design: Use feedback and data to refine solutions and improve usability.
- Contribute to Design Systems: Help to build, maintain, and evolve our design system for consistency and accessibility, updating and creating components based on product roadmaps and evidence gathered from research, while holding teams accountable for correct usage and adoption.
- Champion UX Research: Liaise with our research team and set up user testing sessions to validate ideas.
- Advocate for UX: Share insights through blogs, workshops, and proactive engagement across the business.
- Contribute to Team Culture: Take part in weekly/monthly show and tells and critique sessions, and collaborate with junior team members at different stages of their development.
- Map and simplify complex operational processes, translating them into clear and efficient digital journeys for internal teams.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Naturally creative and inquisitive
- Confident communicator and collaborator
- Passionate about user-centred design
- Comfortable troubleshooting and problem-solving
- Adaptable and keen to learn
Skills & Experience:
- 2–3 years in a UX role (agency or in-house)
- Expertise in User-Centred Design principles
- Knowledge of visual design principles and accessibility standards
- Awareness of current UX/UI trends
Beneficial but not essential:
- Experience or interest in UX research
- Experience or interest in service design principles
- Understanding of working within CASS/regulatory/compliance restrictions
- Experience using or building a design system
