IT Support Engineer

Office-based | 36-hour week

Our client is a well-established engineering-led organisation seeking a proactive and technically capable IT Support Engineer to join the business in a key, hands-on role. Reporting into the Facilities and Procurement function, you will be responsible for supporting, maintaining, and developing the company's IT and telecommunications systems, ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient day-to-day operations.

This is a varied position combining IT support, systems administration, project involvement, database management, and fleet coordination, making it ideal for an IT professional who enjoys a broad remit, a high level of ownership, and close collaboration with stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • 1st & 2nd line IT support (on-site & remote)
  • Support Windows/macOS, Microsoft 365, and Active Directory
  • Maintain networks (LAN/WAN, VPN, Wi-Fi) and VoIP systems
  • Manage hardware & software assets and licensing compliance
  • Support core business systems (including Sage & Alphalogix)
  • Assist with IT projects and infrastructure upgrades
  • Maintain IT documentation and liaise with external suppliers
  • Support the company car fleet administration

Key Requirements

  • Proven IT support or system administration experience
  • Strong knowledge of Windows/macOS & Microsoft 365
  • Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
  • Experience with Active Directory and backup solutions
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills

Certifications (desirable): CompTIA, Microsoft, ITIL
