About the role

The Solutions Consultant acts as the technical bridge between Sales and Project Delivery, ensuring clients receive accurate, timely, and compelling solutions that meet their business objectives.

This role combines technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and client engagement skills to shape opportunities, accelerate sales cycles, and maintain client confidence from first contact to project handover.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Sales & Client Engagement

  • Attend client meetings (Teams or face-to-face) with sales executives to provide immediate technical input and solution guidance.
  • Conduct discovery sessions to understand client business needs, technical requirements, and constraints.
  • Translate requirements into high-level technical solutions across Akita's core service pillars: infrastructure, cloud, cyber security, and unified communications.
  • Prepare clear, client-facing proposals, statements of work, and supporting documentation.
  • Present proposed solutions confidently to technical and non-technical audiences.

Solution Design & Handover

  • Validate proposed solutions for feasibility and alignment with Akita's service capabilities.
  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure smooth transition from proposal to project delivery.
  • Support project scoping sessions to ensure client expectations are met and risks are managed early.

Account Management Collaboration

  • Work with account managers to review and update client IT roadmaps, ensuring alignment with evolving business needs and technology trends.

Internal Collaboration

  • Act as the main liaison between sales, technical delivery, and account management.
  • Provide input to pricing, solution templates, and proposal documentation.
  • Support development of best practices and pre-sales processes to improve response speed and consistency.

Continuous Improvement

  • Stay up to date on industry trends, Microsoft solutions, and managed service offerings.
  • Recommend enhancements to Akita's service portfolio based on client demand and market shifts.
Core Skills

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong technical understanding across Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, and security solutions.
  • Experience in a pre-sales, solutions, or technical consultancy role within IT services or MSP environment.
  • Proven ability to translate technical concepts into clear, client-focused outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisation, documentation, and time management abilities.
Desirable Attributes
  • Microsoft Certified Professional or equivalent certifications.
  • Experience presenting proposals and technical solutions to C-suite clients.
  • Knowledge of managed IT services, cybersecurity, and cloud migrations.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on qualifications and skills

Start date: ASAP

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 working hours per week plus 1-hour unpaid meal break each day.

Shift time: 08:45 – 17:15

Location: On-site, Wrotham

Holiday entitlement: 24 days, rising to 30 days subject to terms after 3 years' continuous service (plus 8 bank holidays)

Sick pay: Contractual sick pay commences after 6 months
