Finance & Payroll Manager, Up to £60,000 package

Hybrid – City of London | Full-time | 40 hours per week

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 (DOE) + 10% Bonus + Benefits (hybrid working, medical cash plan, 25 days holiday + BH, pension and professional development). Part-time working considered.

Bench IT is a fast-growing, market-leading IT Channel Specialist supporting major VARs, MSPs and Systems Integrators across the UK. We’re looking for an experienced Finance & Payroll Manager to take ownership of our finance function and play a key role in our next stage of growth.

You’ll lead end-to-end finance operations, manage employee and contractor payroll, ensure strong financial controls, drive process improvements and support strategic decision-making. You’ll also oversee and develop one direct report (Finance Administrator).

What you’ll do:

• Manage all financial operations including ledgers, reconciliations, month-end, management accounts and cash flow.
• Lead client billing across Professional Services, Resource on Demand and Managed Services.
• Oversee contractor and employee payroll (PAYE, umbrella, LTD) and ensure IR35 compliance.
• Strengthen controls, manage credit control and improve cash collection.
• Implement system/process improvements and deliver financial insight to leadership.

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years’ finance experience within IT recruitment, professional services or contractor-heavy environments.
• Strong contractor payroll + IR35 knowledge.
• Advanced Excel + experience with systems such as Xero, Sage, NetSuite or similar.
• Qualified/Part-Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) OR considerable relevant experience.
• Strong attention to detail, initiative and the ability to work autonomously.
