Harmonic are excited to be working with one of the UK's most disruptive engineering companies to bring on a Finance Director to grow their finance team. The company has seen rapid growth, a landmark level of funding backed by some of the most prestigious investors in the world.
The company is full of some of the brightest minds in the UK and boast an office first culture with 4-5 days in a luxury-level Central London office. Built by some of the most innovative minds in the industry, our client is a technology scale-up working on an industry-disrupting product and are looking to bring in an ambitious and confident Finance Director to hit the ground running and help contribute to the future growth plans of the company.
The Role
As Finance Director, you'll oversee the finance function day-to-day ensuring financial rigour while maintaining compliance and board relations to the highest degree. This is a very hands-on senior finance role and will be combining strategic leadership with a dedicated and ambitious attitude.
You'll be an integral part in shaping financial decision-making, influencing company-direction and growth, improving processes and promoting the success of the company both internally and externally to non-finance teams and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead long-term financial planning and capital strategy to support rapid growth, and expansion across the UK.
- Drive forecasting, budgeting, and performance strategy and analytics to deliver clear insights to external stakeholders.
- Develop and build out a high-performing finance team to take the company through this period of quick and sustained growth.
- Ensure full compliance across all accounting and regulatory standards by maintaining strong internal controls and managing financial risk.
- Design, establish and lead financial processes, systems, and controls to support a scaling business.
- Improve modes of fundraising and capex through improved investor and stakeholder relations.
Essential Experience:
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
- Proven experience in a fast-growing scale-up company leading finance teams.
- Background in a technology start-up / scale-up.
- Strong financial planning, analysis, and modelling skills.
- In-depth understanding of inventory, manufacturing finance, and cost accounting.
- Excellent communicator with the ability to collaborate on fundraising and partner with external stakeholders.
- Innovative and proactive, very hands-on leader with an ambition to grow the company by improving financial processes.
- Experience leading large CapEx projects, or from a capital-intensive company background.
Bonus Experience:
- Experience in a Manufacturing, Engineering, or Deep-Tech start-up / scale-up.
- Familiarity with fundraising.
Location: Central London | On-site (5 days in office, some flexibility)
