Data Migration Analyst

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Data Migration Analyst to work for our client within the IT consulting sector. This is initially a 3-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a fully remote role.

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Data Migration Analyst to join its Azure Data Platform and Core Systems Migration program. This role will act as the bridge between the "Old World" and the "New World." Due to the transition into a modern architecture (Salesforce, Thought Machine, Azure Fabric). You will be responsible for analysing legacy data across Marketing, Sales, Underwriting, and Servicing, as well as defining the precise logic required to map data into its new core systems.

Responsibilities

  • Create comprehensive mapping specifications translating data fields from legacy sources (Excel, HubSpot) to target schemas in Salesforce and Thought Machine
  • Use SQL and Power BI to profile legacy data, identifying data quality issues, gaps, or inconsistencies that must be resolved prior to migration
  • Work within a SAFe Agile environment to collaborate with Product Owners and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to determine transformation rules
  • Participate in Program Increment (PI) planning and Sprints, delivering mapping artefacts to Data Engineers for pipeline construction in Azure Fabric
  • Assist in validating that migrated data lands correctly in the new systems according to your mapping definitions

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience as a Data Migration Analyst
  • Proven experience creating detailed Source-to-Target mapping documents
  • Experience with Salesforce (object model, fields, validation rules) or HubSpot is essential
  • Strong ability to query data, join tables, and investigate data anomalies
  • Ability to build data quality dashboards to visualise missing or dirty data for stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Banking/Lending data (Underwriting, Servicing) or Customer data (Marketing, Sales)
  • Experience working in a SAFe Agile or Scrum environment

Desirable

  • Experience with Thought Machine
  • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data Factory
  • Advanced Excel skills (for dissecting legacy spreadsheets)
