ABOUT THE BUSINESS

This organisation is a well-established marketing and customer communications specialist supporting a range of high-profile public and commercial sector accounts. The team works on large-scale, data-rich programmes, helping clients understand customer behaviour, improve targeting, and deliver more effective engagement across channels.

For these roles, you'll support one of the agency's most complex national accounts - a long-standing programme with a uniquely rich dataset covering millions of UK households. The account is known internally as one of the most analytically demanding and rewarding, offering exposure to deep customer lifecycle analysis and large-scale operational reporting.

THE TEAM

You'll join a dedicated Marketing Science function made up of analysts, planners, and data specialists working collaboratively across reporting, forecasting, targeting, and customer insight. The immediate team consists of seven Analysts plus a dedicated Data Planner who translates analytical outputs into presentations and recommendations.

This is a highly experienced analytics environment with access to wider technical specialists (c. 50 people) and opportunities for exposure to senior stakeholders.

THE ROLE

You will support ongoing analytical programmes and upcoming project work. The aim is to free up senior analysts for several major initiatives launching over the next year.

You'll work with a complex, multi-decade dataset built across legacy systems, requiring strong technical capability and confidence handling large volumes of granular customer data.

Key responsibilities include:

Core Analysis & Reporting

  • Running established contractual and management information (MI) reports.

  • Supporting forecasting related to campaign activity (e.g., email volumes, contact centre traffic).

  • Delivering post-campaign analysis and performance summaries.

  • Reporting on base segmentation and customer behavioural trends.

  • Producing profiling, targeting, and journey analysis.

Data Investigation & Ad-Hoc Insight

  • Responding to ad-hoc analytical queries from internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Extracting and manipulating large datasets within a legacy Oracle/SAS environment.

  • Working with data covering licence status, payment behaviours, churn and lapsing, exemptions, non-viewers, and channel performance.

Improvements & Optimisation

  • Reviewing existing reporting to improve clarity, efficiency, or automation opportunities.

  • Identifying redundant reporting to streamline ongoing workloads.

  • Contributing ideas - the team openly welcomes suggestions for better ways of working.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential:

  • Strong SAS experience (core requirement for these roles).

  • Solid SQL skills (SQL within SAS also suitable).

  • Advanced Excel capability.

  • Comfortable working with large, complex, and historical datasets.

Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to Power BI or other BI tools.

  • Experience in marketing, CRM, customer operations, or subscription-type data environments (e.g., retail, utilities, telecoms, media).

WHY APPLY?

  • Work on one of the UK's most analytically rich and nationally important datasets.

  • Join a highly experienced analytics function with strong support and knowledge-sharing.

  • Shape reporting, forecasting, and targeting approaches that influence major national campaigns.

  • Perfect opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on SAS work and uncovering insight within complex data environments.
