Technical Programme Manager

Up to £90,000

12-Month Contract

London - Hybrid

A large, tech-led organisation is looking to bring in a Technical Programme Manager on a 12-month contract to lead some of its most strategic and high-impact transformation programmes. This role sits at the heart of the business, owning complex initiatives that span technology, data, finance, security and product. It's not a delivery-by-numbers role - the focus is on driving meaningful change, simplifying the technology landscape, and helping the organisation operate more efficiently, securely and at scale.

THE ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own the end-to-end delivery of critical technical transformation programmes, from early discovery through to execution and evaluation
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives spanning product, engineering, data, finance and wider business teams
  • Drive transformation across areas such as systems consolidation, tooling optimisation and data pipeline improvement
  • Act as the central point of coordination across multiple workstreams, managing dependencies, risks and priorities
  • Communicate complex technical topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership
  • Evaluate tools and approaches, making evidence-based recommendations that balance innovation with stability
  • Set clear goals and delivery structure, while remaining adaptable in a fast-moving environment

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Programme Manager or Project Manager in a tech-led or digital environment
  • Strong track record delivering large, cross-functional transformation programmes
  • Experience with systems consolidation, platform optimisation or similar technology change initiatives
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Confident influencing senior leaders and driving alignment across teams
  • Experience working in Agile or modern delivery environments
  • Solid understanding of software development workflows, data platforms and monitoring tools
  • Curiosity around AI and emerging technologies, and how they can improve efficiency and ways of working
  • Analytical, evidence-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities
