About the role

Our client Engineering team is embarking on a major transformation programme to replace its current Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) system ahead of critical business and technology deadlines. This programme is currently in the Initiation / Discovery phase, focusing on defining the strategy, assessing implementation options solutions for a preferred solution, and understanding the business impact of the transition.

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Technical Lead to support the successful delivery of this high-profile programme. This role will provide technical leadership and coordination across all technology workstreams for the MRO transition programme acting as the central point of contact for technical delivery, ensuring alignment across solution design and build, data migration, solution integration, cybersecurity, infrastructure, testing, and cutover activities. Effective communication with senior stakeholders will be key to manage risks, dependencies, and progress.

Key responsibilities

Lead Technical Coordination & Leadership

• Coordinate technical SMEs and vendor teams across solution design, data, integration, cybersecurity, infrastructure, service delivery, testing, and cutover.
• Ensure technical activities align with programme milestones and business objectives.
• Act as the primary technical liaison to programme leadership and senior stakeholders, providing clear updates on risks, dependencies, and progress.

Solution Design & Governance

• Oversee solution architecture and ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
• Facilitate technical design authority forums and decision-making for technical issues.

Data & Integration

• Ensure robust data migration planning and execution, including validation and governance.
• Coordinate integration design and delivery between the chosen solution and other enterprise systems.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

• Ensure technical solutions meet cybersecurity and regulatory requirements.
• Manage technical risk assessments and mitigation strategies.

Infrastructure & Service Delivery

• Oversee readiness of hosting, network, and environments for implementation.
• Ensure service delivery models and BAU support structures are defined.

Testing & Cutover

• Coordinate technical test strategy and execution (SIT, performance, UAT support)
• Lead technical cutover planning and execution to minimise operational disruption.

Stakeholder Communication

• Provide clear, concise updates to senior leadership on technical progress, risks, and decisions.
• Influence and align technical priorities with business needs.

Team Management

• Coordinate and manage a team of technical experts in architecture, integration, and data management.

Experience & Skills

• Platform Technical Lead, Principal Architect or Enterprise Architect with technical management experience.
• Proven experience coordinating technical solution delivery for large-scale ERP / MRO programmes.
• Strong understanding of solution architecture, data migration, integration, and infrastructure.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including at senior leadership level.
• Ability to manage complex dependencies and drive decision-making across technical domains.
• Familiarity with Aviation MRO solutions such as AMOS and SAP systems is highly desirable.

What’s in it for you? –

• This is a 6-month contract.
• A day rate is in-scope IR35, either PAYE or Hays approved Umbrella company
• This role provides a remote working access from the comforts of your own home and only going to our state-of-the-art office in Waterside three days per week.
