Founding Talent Acquisition Lead

Salary: £60,000 - £75,000 with a salary review taking place annually

Equity: £6,000 - £7,500 in tax efficient equity options

Office Location: Holborn, London

Hybrid working style: At least 3 in-office days a week to build a collaborative environment

Experience: 5-7+ years of end-to-end recruiting, ideally within both a high-growth startup and a high calibre recruitment firm

Our mission

Historically, investing in options has been complex and limited to wealthy and professional investors, but our mission is to level the playing field and finally make options trading accessible.

We've built a mobile app that strips back the complexity, removes the commissions and enables options to be traded as easily as shares.

The mission isn't just limited to the UK, or Europe, we have ambitions to scale the business globally and after raising £3.5mn, onboarding our first 1,000 customers and facilitating over 3,000 trades, we are now looking for a Founding Talent Acquisition Lead to help us scale.

The role

As our first dedicated talent hire, you won't just fill seats. This is your chance to design the blueprints for how Investa grows. You will be an individual contributor who owns the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle, with a clear path to becoming our future Head of Talent.

We believe that the best talent is directly sourced by people who live and breathe the mission of Investa. You'll work to define and execute a high-quality hiring engine, driving everything from sourcing and outreach, to process design, candidate closing and post-joining performance monitoring.

Using a data-driven approach, you'll test and refine various recruitment strategies to build pipelines and help us recruit and retain top-tier talent.

What you'll do

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment process: Create job descriptions, proactively build pipelines of candidates through direct sourcing and outreach, hold introductory conversations, managing the interview process, offer, close, onboard and continue to monitor throughout probation, whilst continually refining the process
  • Build talent pipelines: Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future job openings across the various business functions, through direct sourcing, industry events, online communities and platforms such as Linkedin Recruiter, whilst building relationships for the future with passive candidates and talent
  • Make decisions using data: Leverage data and metrics to refine recruitment strategies and drive informed hiring decisions
  • Analyse and report data: Track and analyse key recruitment metrics, such as time-to-hire, cost-per-hire and pipeline health. Provide regular insights to the founding team on recruitment progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Act as our market intelligence lead: Serve as our 'eyes and ears' by proactively monitoring industry hiring strategies and trends to ensure Invest remains as a competitive employer of choice
  • Increase employer brand reputation: Provide all candidates, offered or not, with a fantastic candidate experience and position Investa as one of the best places to work in the industry

About you:

  • Technical recruitment experience: Your background is predominantly hiring for technical functions including engineering, product and data but you also have experience hiring for more generalist roles including but not limited to marketing, operations and finance
  • End-to-end recruitment experience: Experience across the full recruitment lifecycle (sourcing, screening, interviewing, closing, onboarding and monitoring) and in designing and implementing recruitment processes and tools (e.g., applicant tracking systems)
  • Sourcing-first mindset: You're innovative and can find cost-effective strategies to source world-class talent, staying persistent with the conviction that every role can be filled through direct efforts without relying on agency support
  • Track record of exceptional performance: Whether in work, academics, sports, or anywhere else you've applied yourself, you have outperformed and colleagues trust you to get stuff done
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: You aren't looking for a traditional, siloed recruitment role; you want the ownership and influence to help build a business and serve as the catalyst for our team's growth through every stage of our scaling journey
  • Outcomes focused: You have a strong bias for action and an obsession with outcomes. You move fast, bypass unnecessary processes, and find the right answers by testing and learning in real-time. Whether it's a high-volume hiring drive or a specialised search for a niche expert, you have the range and tenacity to close the role

Our interview process

  • Stage 1: Introductory chat with one of the founders (30 mins)
  • Stage 2: Technical recruitment interview with the other founder and our CTO (1 hour)
  • Stage 3: Behavioural interview (1 hour)
  • Offer

Compensation and benefits

  • £60,000 - £75,000 depending on experience, with a salary review taking place annually
  • £6,000 - £7,500 in tax efficient equity options, with additional equity grants linked to performance and milestones
  • Bupa private healthcare insurance
  • Bupa private dental insurance
  • 30 days of holiday (including bank holidays)
  • 1 additional day off for your birthday
