Data Analyst
The Public Protection Division is undergoing an exciting transformation. We’ve recently upgraded from Idox Uniform to a modern, cloud-based platform – Idox Cloud – to enhance our service delivery.
However, the new system offers limited built-in reporting capabilities, and we need a skilled Data Analyst to help us unlock its full potential.
What you’ll do
- Design and deliver custom reports and interactive dashboards in Power BI, including KPI reporting.
- Extract, clean, and analyse datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and actionable insights.
- Collaborate with service managers to provide data-driven recommendations that improve decision-making and operational efficiency.
- Champion a data-driven culture, ensuring accurate and meaningful reporting across the division.
- Work with partners (e.g., police and internal council teams) to produce:
- Crime Needs Assessment Reports – statistical analysis of crime trends, risks, and community needs.
- Trend and Hotspot Analysis – identifying geographic and thematic patterns in crime data.
- Advise on system configuration improvements, particularly code lists.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to data collection processes.
- Train internal staff on dashboard usage and interpretation.
- Support data governance compliance, ensuring GDPR and local authority data-sharing protocols are met.
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in data analysis, reporting, and visualisation (Power BI essential).
- Strong knowledge of SQL and data manipulation techniques.
- Ability to translate complex data into clear, practical insights.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive, problem-solving mindset.
Why join us?
- Be part of a team driving innovation in public protection services.
- Play a key role in shaping how data informs policy and service delivery.
- Enjoy a collaborative environment with hybrid working flexibility.
