First Line IT Support
A specialist law firm based in central London are looking to recruit an experienced 1st Line Support IT Technician for an initial 12 month fixed term contract. This position offers hybrid working 4 days per week in the office 1 day per week working from home.
The successful IT Support Technician will assist the current internal IT team in providing first-line technical support and a range of IT operational tasks. You will work closely with the firms MSP and third-party vendors, supporting users, managing devices, and helping to optimise their IT processes. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone with strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
Duties will include:
- Delivering prompt first-line technical support for hardware, software, and related IT issues (in person, by phone, and email).
- Triaging and escalating issues to the firms outsourced MSP, ensuring effective resolution.
- Supporting users with iManage, Microsoft 365 and other applications and services used within the firm.
- Providing comprehensive IT inductions and ongoing training for users.
- Assisting with the setup, configuration, and deployment of laptops, mobiles and peripherals.
- Maintaining accurate logs and tracking for all devices, ensuring up-to-date records of allocation, status, and compliance.
- Monitoring and ensure user and device compliance with internal security policies (e.g. encryption, multi-factor authentication, etc.).
- Supporting meeting room hardware and assist users with setting up virtual hearings and webinars using Teams, Zoom, and Webex.
- Administering iManage, including user permissions and maintaining information barriers.
- Collating information required for security and data protection audits and questionnaires.
- Testing and implementing software updates and improvement initiatives.
- Contributing to the optimisation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for IT.
- Participating in automation-related projects across the business to improve efficiency and reducing manual workload.
- Assisting with service accounts management and processing IT-related invoices, liaising with suppliers as required.
Required skills and knowledge for this position:
- Experience in a first-line IT support role; second-line technical knowledge is desirable.
- Experience supporting and administering iManage and M365 is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of SharePoint and the Microsoft Power Platform is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain technical issues clearly.
