Interim Legal Counsel
A fast-growing travel technology start-up preparing for a platform launch in early 2026 is seeking an experienced Fractional Legal Counsel to support the business on a flexible, part-time basis.
The platform integrates Web3-based payment infrastructure (stablecoins), making regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and financial governance critical to success. This role offers the opportunity to shape legal foundations at an early-stage business and work closely with senior leadership.
You will provide senior level legal support across commercial, regulatory, and corporate matters, helping prepare the business for launch and future funding.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on UK and European regulatory compliance, including consumer protection and crypto/fintech regulation (e.g. MiCA).
- Supporting financial and payments structures, including custody, escrow mechanisms, and customer funds protection.
- Drafting and reviewing commercial contracts, platform terms, host and customer agreements.
- Advising on corporate structure, funding readiness, and governance.
- Supporting token and equity-related matters where relevant.
- Helping build scalable legal processes suitable for a high-growth environment.
- Working alongside external international legal advisors.
Ideal background:
- Senior qualified lawyer (in-house or private practice).
- Strong experience across UK and European regulation.
- Exposure to fintech, Web3, payments, crypto, or digital assets (preferred).
- Experience supporting startups, scale-ups, or international businesses.
- Comfortable operating in early-stage, fast-moving environments.
- Experience with complex corporate structures, funding, and investor matters.
- Background in travel, marketplace platforms, or Web2 consumer businesses is a plus.
- Practical, solutions-focused approach.
