IT Manager
IT Manager – Lead the team. Shape the infrastructure. Drive improvement.
£55,000 - £65,000 | Bournemouth
You’re the kind of person who doesn’t just keep systems running, you make them better.
You’re confident rolling up your sleeves to fix something yourself, but you’re just as comfortable leading a team, setting direction, and making sure the right standards are in place. You’ve spent enough time within infrastructure and management to know what “good” looks like, both BAU support and project delivery.
This is your chance to join a growing technology business providing UK-wide solutions, taking the lead on their internal infrastructure and managing a small, cross-location IT team. It’s a hands-on leadership role where you’ll oversee everything from day-to-day performance to long-term improvements, ensuring the business stays secure, scalable, and future-ready.
What’s in it for you?
- Salary: £55,000 - £65,000
- Location: Bournemouth, Dorset
- Scope: Lead the internal IT function across infrastructure, security, and user support
- Impact: Own technical decisions and drive continuous improvement across systems and processes
- Team: Manage and mentor a small, multi-site team
- Environment: Modern tech stack, cloud-first roadmap, and strong commitment to security standards
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading and developing the IT team, ensuring high performance, ownership, and strong service delivery
- Managing infrastructure across on-prem and cloud environments, keeping systems stable, secure, and scalable
- Overseeing compliance and aligning systems with recognised security frameworks
- Driving improvements across processes, tooling, resilience, and documentation
- Managing incidents, root cause analysis, and proactive risk reduction
- Leading the planning and smooth delivery of IT projects and upgrades
- Ensuring backups, monitoring, certificates, and asset management run like clockwork
- Overseeing networking, Windows Server, M365, virtualisation, and hosting environments
- Communicating clearly with internal teams, senior leadership, and external partners
- Supporting long-term roadmap activity, including migration from on-prem to cloud platforms
What you’ll bring to the table:
- Strong background in IT infrastructure, support, and systems administration
- Proven experience leading or managing an IT team
- Solid understanding of Windows Server, networking, virtualisation, and cloud concepts
- Comfortable working with security standards and best practice frameworks
- Confident making decisions, owning problems, and driving improvements
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues into clear updates
- Bonus points for experience with cloud platforms, automation, or security tooling
If you’re looking for a hands-on IT leadership role where you’ll be trusted to drive improvements, shape the roadmap, and lead a capable team, this could be your next move.
