Account Manager
Your Company: A well-established provider of advanced communication, safety, and security solutions is seeking an Account Manager to support and grow key client relationships across the Southampton area. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Account Manager to build long-term partnerships, identify growth opportunities, and contribute to meaningful projects in a supportive, ambitious environment.Your Role and Responsibilities While in this position your duties may include, but are not limited to:
- Manage and develop a portfolio of existing accounts across the Southampton region, ensuring excellent customer experience and retention.
- Build long-term client relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact for commercial and operational stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to expand spend within existing customers through upselling, cross-selling, renewals, and service improvements.
- Support a consultative sales process - understanding customer requirements, shaping tailored solutions, and guiding proposals through to agreement.
- Work across a range of solution areas such as critical communications, surveillance and security systems, access control, and ongoing support services (dependent on customer needs).
- Coordinate with internal operational, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure solutions are technically aligned and commercially competitive.
- Own the quoting process for assigned accounts, ensuring accuracy, value, and timely delivery of proposals.
- Maintain a structured pipeline of opportunities and manage account plans to support forecasting and target achievement.
- Convert inbound leads and account enquiries into revenue, maximising value from existing relationships and historical account data.
- Attend client meetings, site visits, and occasional industry events to strengthen relationships and uncover new opportunities.
- Keep up to date with relevant technology trends and product developments to enhance credibility and solution fit.
- Maintain accurate CRM records to support reporting, pipeline reviews, and commercial decision-making.
- Support additional tasks as required by senior leadership to drive customer satisfaction and regional growth.
- Proven experience in Account Management, Client Relationship Management, or a similar commercial role.
- Demonstrable ability to grow existing accounts through relationship building and solution-based selling.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Commercially aware, self-motivated, and organised, with a proactive and solutions-first approach.
- Comfortable using Microsoft applications and CRM platforms to manage activity, pipeline, and reporting.
- Experience in technical solution sales, security, communications, or service-led environments is advantageous, but not essential.
