Account Manager

Your Company: A well-established provider of advanced communication, safety, and security solutions is seeking an Account Manager to support and grow key client relationships across the Southampton area. Serving a diverse customer base across public sector, commercial environments, and large-scale venues, the business designs, installs, and supports integrated systems that improve safety, connectivity, and operational performance.You will join a collaborative and forward-thinking team that takes pride in delivering high standards of customer service - from solution design and technical support through to ongoing account development. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded Account Manager to build long-term partnerships, identify growth opportunities, and contribute to meaningful projects in a supportive, ambitious environment.Your Role and Responsibilities While in this position your duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Manage and develop a portfolio of existing accounts across the Southampton region, ensuring excellent customer experience and retention.
  • Build long-term client relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact for commercial and operational stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to expand spend within existing customers through upselling, cross-selling, renewals, and service improvements.
  • Support a consultative sales process - understanding customer requirements, shaping tailored solutions, and guiding proposals through to agreement.
  • Work across a range of solution areas such as critical communications, surveillance and security systems, access control, and ongoing support services (dependent on customer needs).
  • Coordinate with internal operational, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure solutions are technically aligned and commercially competitive.
  • Own the quoting process for assigned accounts, ensuring accuracy, value, and timely delivery of proposals.
  • Maintain a structured pipeline of opportunities and manage account plans to support forecasting and target achievement.
  • Convert inbound leads and account enquiries into revenue, maximising value from existing relationships and historical account data.
  • Attend client meetings, site visits, and occasional industry events to strengthen relationships and uncover new opportunities.
  • Keep up to date with relevant technology trends and product developments to enhance credibility and solution fit.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records to support reporting, pipeline reviews, and commercial decision-making.
  • Support additional tasks as required by senior leadership to drive customer satisfaction and regional growth.
What You Will Need to Apply Please apply only if you meet the following criteria:
  • Proven experience in Account Management, Client Relationship Management, or a similar commercial role.
  • Demonstrable ability to grow existing accounts through relationship building and solution-based selling.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence engaging technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Commercially aware, self-motivated, and organised, with a proactive and solutions-first approach.
  • Comfortable using Microsoft applications and CRM platforms to manage activity, pipeline, and reporting.
  • Experience in technical solution sales, security, communications, or service-led environments is advantageous, but not essential.
