Role: 2nd Line Service Desk Engineer

Our client is a trusted IT services provider delivering secure, reliable, and people-focused technology support. They're now looking for a confident 2nd Line Service Desk Engineer to own complex technical issues, support users both remotely and on-site, and uphold exceptional service standards.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as an escalation point for 1st Line, resolving advanced technical incidents
- Deliver remote and on-site support across users, infrastructure, and cloud platforms
- Install, configure, and maintain hardware and software at client sites
- Monitor alerts, patching, and proactively prevent service disruptions
- Troubleshoot across Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, networking, and virtualisation
- Work with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud environments
- Liaise with third-party suppliers and support project deployments
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to the Knowledge Base
- Mentor 1st Line colleagues and manage workload across service desk and site visits
About You
- 2+ years' experience in a 2nd Line or Field Engineer role (MSP experience ideal)
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 (MFA, SSO, SharePoint, Teams, Intune, Entra)
- Experience with Azure/AWS/Google Cloud and virtualisation platforms (Hyper-V/VMware)
- Solid networking skills (TCP/IP, VLANs, DHCP, DNS, LAN/WAN/WLAN)
- Confident supporting hardware, printers, and mobile devices
- Clear communicator with a calm, ownership-driven approach
- Strong organisational skills and a proactive, improvement-focused mindset
- Working towards or keen to achieve relevant Microsoft certifications
- Full UK driving license and willingness to travel (occasional overnight stays)
