Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Automation Test Lead to join a Quality Assurance (QA) team within a Legal / Professional Services environment on a contract basis.
The contractor will work as an integrated member of the QA and delivery teams, supporting business-critical systems and ensuring continuity of automation testing delivery across active programmes of work.
Key Responsibilities
Automation Test Delivery
• Lead the delivery of automated testing activities across legal and professional services platforms
• Develop and maintain automated regression test suites covering agreed P1 business-critical scenarios
• Ensure automation outputs align with internal QA standards, governance, and compliance requirements
Automation Scripting & Frameworks
• Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using C# and Playwright
• Contribute to and maintain automation frameworks integrated with Azure DevOps
• Ensure automation solutions are robust, scalable, and maintainable within an enterprise environment
Automation Planning & QA Collaboration
• Produce automation test plans for discovery phases and in-flight projects
• Work closely with QA Leads, Developers, and Product stakeholders to define automation scope and approach
• Participate in delivery ceremonies and QA governance processes as required
Continuous Improvement
• Review existing automation assets and frameworks
• Identify and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, stability, and reporting
• Support the adoption of best practices across the QA automation function
Knowledge Transfer & Handover
• Deliver structured training and knowledge-transfer sessions to internal QA team members
• Produce comprehensive documentation covering automation frameworks, test suites, and enhancements
• Ensure a thorough handover to support ongoing maintenance and future development post-assignment
Required Skills & Experience
• Proven experience in a Test Automation Lead or Senior Automation Engineer role
• Strong hands-on experience with C#, Playwright, and Azure DevOps
• Experience working within Legal, Professional Services, or similarly regulated enterprise environments
• Ability to operate effectively within established QA teams, processes, and governance frameworks
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills
