We are working with a leading global organisation within the financial services sector to recruit an experienced Desktop Engineer for an on-site contract role based in London.
This position is hands-on and user-facing, providing high-quality deskside and walk-up IT support in a fast-paced corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second line desktop support for Windows 10 and Windows 11
- Deliver deskside and walk-up support via IT support desks or tech bars
- Support laptops, mobile phones, iPads, peripherals, and meeting room technology
- Log, track, and resolve incidents and service requests using an ITSM tool such as ServiceNow
- Support onboarding and offboarding, including device setup and user inductions
- Perform hardware and software troubleshooting and escalate issues when required
- Maintain build rooms, stock rooms, and assist with device decommissioning
- Support desk moves, equipment refreshes, and floor support when required
- Collaborate with wider IT teams to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
- Provide occasional out-of-hours or weekend support when required
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum two years' experience in a Desktop Support or Desktop Engineer role
- Strong hands-on experience with Windows 10 and Windows 11
- Experience supporting corporate mobile devices including iOS, Android, and iPads
- Strong customer service and face-to-face communication skills
- Experience working in a corporate or financial services environment preferred
- Knowledge of ITIL processes
