Project Implementation Engineer

Are you an experienced IT professional with a passion for implementing cutting-edge technical solutions? As a Project Implementation Engineer at ROCK, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality project implementations, ensuring our clients receive exceptional service and seamless technology integrations.

You will ideally be based somewhere on the M4 corridor. It is largely a remote role, but there will be client visits across the UK sporadically. This may occasionally mean overnight stays too.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead the implementation and management of a broad range of technical projects, including enterprise system deployments, network infrastructure optimisation, data migration strategies, and software application integrations, ensuring seamless performance and alignment with business objectives.
  • Guarantee all implementations adhere to industry best practices, security and compliance standards, and client-specific requirements, delivering resilient, high-performance solutions that drive operational efficiency.
  • Deploy and configure end-user computing solutions, including desktops, laptops, and mobile devices from industry leaders such as Dell, Apple, HP, and Microsoft, ensuring optimal functionality and user experience.
  • Implement, and maintain cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure solutions, including virtualised environments with VMware and Hyper-V, hybrid cloud integrations with Microsoft Azure and AWS, and scalable server deployments that meet evolving business needs.
  • Implement and migrate enterprise-grade email solutions, including on-premises Microsoft Exchange and cloud-based platforms such as Microsoft 365, ensuring seamless integration, security, and optimal performance.
  • Work closely with our delivery, account management and service desk teams to ensure smooth and successful client implementations.
  • Liaise with suppliers and third-party companies to gather necessary information for project completion.
  • Support fellow engineers and contribute to learning and development plans through mentoring and group learning sessions.

The ideal candidate:

  • 3+ years in an IT engineering role, equivalent to a 2nd Tier level.
  • Proven experience in implementing technical projects.
  • Experience with Cloud Technology such as Microsoft 365, Azure and AWS.
  • Excellent technical knowledge of IT infrastructures and technologies.
  • Full UK driving licence and your own vehicle

What does success look like:

  • Delivering high-quality project implementations that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the project implementation process.
  • Maintain a professional standard of delivery by ensuring complaint volumes remain aligned with ISO standards, with no more than one complaint per nine projects where you are named as a contributor.
  • Take end-to-end accountability and ownership of each assigned project, maintaining complete, accurate, and up-to-date documentation and ensuring all records are updated within one business day of project completion.
  • Submit accurate and complete timesheets, logging a minimum of 40 hours per working week to reflect project activity and contribution.
  • Maintain a strong delivery reputation by ensuring that at least 90% of client feedback from completed projects or engagements is positive, based on responses received where you are a named contributor.
