About the Business
A respected professional services firm is seeking a technically strong and improvement-focused Finance Systems Accountant to join its Finance Systems team. Reporting to the Finance Systems Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting, enhancing, and modernising the firm's finance systems, ensuring they’re reliable, efficient, and aligned with business objectives.
This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant with a strong understanding of financial systems and a passion for digital transformation, to join a team driving continuous improvement across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the operation and enhancement of the firm’s financial systems, with a particular focus on Aderant PMS.
- Identify and implement system and process improvements in collaboration with the wider Finance team.
- Lead on finance system upgrades and testing in partnership with Finance and Technology teams.
- Ensure the firm's financial systems are secure, accurate, and operating efficiently.
- Design and maintain financial reporting and dashboards using SQL and SSRS.
- Deliver financial analysis and ad-hoc reports to support business decision-making.
- Ensure compliance of financial systems with relevant standards and internal policies.
- Deliver training on financial systems to finance and non-finance stakeholders across the firm.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with strong technical and systems experience.
- At least 3 years’ experience in a finance systems role, ideally within a professional services environment.
- Proven track record of leading finance system changes or upgrades.
- Skilled in SQL and financial reporting tools (e.g. SSRS); experience with Aderant is a strong advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to train, influence, and collaborate across departments.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive, client-focused mindset.
- Able to prioritise effectively and manage multiple projects or responsibilities.
