Project Engineer - Leading Managed Service Provider
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced Project Delivery team responsible for understanding customer requirements, designing and scoping solutions, and delivering successful outcomes that align with quality and commercial objectives. While we maintain a core technology stack, the diversity of our client portfolio ensures exposure to a wide range of platforms, vendors, and solution types.
Key Responsibilities

Contribute as a technical resource across the full lifecycle of internal and customer projects-design, implementation, testing, documentation, handover, and sign-off.

Review, validate, and technically approve installations, upgrades, and change requests while ensuring robust planning, testing, and risk mitigation measures.

Provide regular progress updates to Project Managers and key stakeholders.

Produce high-quality technical documentation including design standards, project plans, proposals, handover packs, and training materials.

Support pre-sales activities by preparing proposals and delivering presentations to prospective and existing customers.

Review sales proposals to ensure alignment with internal standards, technical integrity, and suitability for customer requirements.

Recommend solutions that are robust, cost-effective, and compliant, with a thorough understanding of risk and impact.

Identify emerging technologies and present recommendations for adoption.

Maintain an expert-level understanding of the organisation's product and solutions roadmap.

Obtain and maintain relevant vendor accreditations as agreed with senior technical leadership.

Adhere to internal change control processes and accurately log all billable time.

Conduct technical audits of client environments, prepare reports, and present recommendations.

Mentor junior members of the technical team and contribute to their professional development.

Virtualisation: Strong experience with VMware; VCP certification preferred.

Cloud Technologies: Proven experience migrating workloads to Microsoft cloud services, including Azure and Office 365.

Security: Strong knowledge of Microsoft cloud security (MFA, Intune, compliance, email security).

Microsoft Stack: Deep familiarity with Microsoft Server environments (2008-2022), Active Directory, SQL, DHCP, DNS, and server migration.

Networking: Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, routing, VPNs, and vendor-specific hardware deployments.

Backup & DR: Hands-on experience with backup platforms, disaster recovery solutions, and bare-metal recovery.

Microsoft 365: Expertise across areas such as email migration, Intune deployment, Azure AD Join, AD Connect, SharePoint Online, DLP, MDM.

Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis capabilities.

Exposure to alternative cloud platforms (AWS, Google Cloud)

Experience with remote desktop technologies (VDI, AVD, Citrix, Terminal Services)

Strong storage knowledge (iSCSI, SAN, NAS)

PowerShell scripting capabilities

Networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, Network+)

Experience with automation tools such as Puppet, Ansible, or Salt

Understanding of cloud-based telephony (e.g., 3CX, Microsoft Teams)
