Details of the position
- In-house Legal Counsel role supporting a large, regulated UK business with a strong digital and data agenda
- Broad commercial remit with a clear focus on digital products, data, IT and privacy
- Trusted adviser to senior stakeholders on complex, business-critical issues
- Exposure to UK and EU regulatory frameworks in a fast-moving environment
- Opportunity to lead legal input on major projects and initiatives
- Hybrid working model
Key responsibilities
- Advise on digital, data protection, privacy and technology matters across the business
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial and technology contracts
- Act as legal lead for digital and data-driven projects
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assess business impact
- Manage disputes and litigation within remit
- Coordinate with global legal and compliance stakeholders
- Ensure activities align with applicable laws, regulations and ethical standards
About you
- UK-qualified solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive (England & Wales)
- 3+ years of post-qualification experience at a law firm or in-house
- Strong experience in digital, IT and data protection/privacy law
- Background in a regulated industry (e.g. life sciences, healthcare, technology, financial services) preferred
- Confident operating independently on complex legal issues
- Commercial, pragmatic approach to risk
- Clear communicator, comfortable working with non-legal stakeholders
