Job Description – Finance Manager (Part time)
3 days a week ( 1 day in the office) - £80,000 pro rata so circa £50,000
LOCATION: London/Hybrid
REPORTS TO: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
MANAGEMENT AND BUDGETARY RESPONSIBILITY:
This role currently has no management or budget responsibility.
THE ROLE:
The Finance Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s day-to-day financial operations. This includes managing accounts payable processes (largely automated), overseeing accounts receivable, preparing management accounts, and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. The role offers an excellent opportunity to gain insight into a SaaS business while working collaboratively with teams across the organisation.
ACCOUNTABLE FOR:
Month end (30%)
- Run prepayments and reconcile to the balance sheet
- Calculate and report on ARR
- Post revenue recognition journal and reconcile accrued / deferred revenue in the balance sheet
- Accruals as appropriate and reconcile to the balance sheet
- Departmental reporting
Financial Planning (25%)
- Assistance with Forecasting and budgeting
- Assisting with Cashflow forecasting
- Other analysis as required
Accounts Receivable (20%)
- Preparing renewals and new business invoices in Maxio, ensuring the contract details are input correctly include the revenue recognition expectation.
- Update Maxio daily
- Update the revenue recognition spreadsheet for each new / renewal deal that comes through (relates to month end)
- Debt collection - most of this is carried out by Maxio
Accounts Payable (10%)
- Sending invoices to Moss / Xero for approval by appropriate line managers
- Review invoices/card payments/reimbursements in Moss and export to Xero
- Preparing weekly payment runs on Moss and in Bank
- Ensure that all invoices / card transitions are processed weekly
- Supplier reconciliations as appropriate
Ad hoc (10%)
- Produce P11ds and PSA submissions
- VAT returns and appropriate analysis
- ONS reporting
- Year End
- R&D tax and other taxation
Bank reconciliations (5%)
- Reconcile Moss and other bank accounts
- Analyse bank transactions for the cashflow forecast and management accounts
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Detailed knowledge of financial accounting principles including SaaS metrics.
- Attention to detail and risk awareness
- Experience using Xero / Excel / Sheets / Moss / Maxio.
- Ability to solve complex problems collaboratively and pragmatically.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary leadership teams.
