IT & Networking Apprentice

You will gain broad exposure across EUC, networking, and infrastructure in a demanding but supportive enterprise environment. This role is ideal for someone who is keen to learn, confident in their approach, and motivated to build a long-term career in IT.

Role

The environment you’ll be working in:

  • Predominantly Windows and Cisco-based environment
  • Approximately 400 servers, 800 network switches, 100 firewalls, and 300 users
  • Onsite Trust Systems team of around 20 engineers (7 based in Farnborough), covering EUC, Server Infrastructure, and Networking at varying experience levels

Main Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing first line and desktop-level support to end users
  • Working on ‘Business as Usual’ EUC and Networks daily/monthly tasks
  • Handling incoming support calls and emails and gathering accurate technical information
  • Logging, prioritising, and updating incidents within ticketing systems
  • Proactively responding to alerts from monitoring systems
  • Assisting with troubleshooting Windows desktop, hardware, and application issues
  • Supporting basic network-related tasks and incidents under supervision
  • Working alongside senior engineers across EUC, infrastructure, and networks
  • Escalating issues appropriately while maintaining clear communication with users
  • Delivering a professional, customer-focused support experience

Training

ICT (Information Communications Technician) Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard: 

  • You will also receive full training and support from the Just IT Apprenticeship team to increase your skills
  • Your training will include gaining a Level 3 IT qualification
