Product Owner

Product Owner

Location:

Bracknell, England, United Kingdom (Hybrid: 2–3 days per week in office) with monthly UK travel to other business units.

At Citation Group, our product vision is simple but ambitious: to become an essential part of our clients’ everyday operations. We’re building a connected ecosystem of software and services that help SMEs run more efficiently, stay compliant, and grow with confidence – all in one place.

Our company product portfolio spans HR, Health & Safety, certification, e‐Learning and beyond, supporting day‐to‐day tasks and long‐term business goals alike. This Product Owner will join the e‐Learning side of the business, and you’ll take ownership of multiple e‐Learning products that sit at the heart of this vision, working alongside other product colleagues across the portfolio. Whether it's improving onboarding flows, surfacing insights, streamlining certification journeys, or unlocking new value through AI, you’ll help shape intuitive, high‐impact experiences that deliver measurable value for clients and for the business.

You will report to the Global Head of Product for e‐Learning.

The role

Product strategy and outcomes

  • Define and deliver product strategy for one or more e‐Learning product areas, ensuring alignment to group objectives and client needs.
  • Own product performance – tracking, analysing and improving key metrics such as adoption, engagement, satisfaction, learning outcomes and commercial contribution.
  • Act as the product expert, maintaining a deep understanding of your product’s role, performance, competitive landscape and opportunities for growth.

Discovery, experience and delivery

  • Drive discovery and prioritisation, translating customer insight, stakeholder input and market analysis into actionable product decisions.
  • Work directly with your cross‐functional engineering and UX/design team, ensuring a well‐maintained and clearly prioritised backlog that delivers value early and often.
  • Champion simplicity, usability and learning effectiveness, ensuring products are intuitive, engaging and effective for a range of customer personas and learner types.
  • Collaborate closely with user researchers (and/or conduct lean research yourself) to understand user needs, validate concepts and test experiences iteratively.
  • Shape product roadmaps that deliver both short‐term value and long‐term differentiation, balancing ambition with feasibility and technical constraints.
  • Support other product colleagues and projects across the wider e‐Learning portfolio or product community where needed.

AI, data and continuous improvement

Embed AI tools and automation into both internal product processes and client‐facing features to enhance productivity, insight and decision‐making.

  • Use qualitative and quantitative data (e.g. product analytics, experiments, customer feedback, market insight) to inform prioritisation, identify improvements and measure impact over time.
  • Take a pragmatic approach to Agile delivery, focused on outcomes and continuous improvement rather than rituals for their own sake.

Collaboration and communication

  • Collaborate cross‐functionally with Commercial, Sales, Service, Marketing and Customer teams to ensure joined‐up planning, go‐to‐market and delivery.
  • Work with Data and Analytics colleagues to define, instrument and interpret the metrics that matter for your product.
  • Ensure clarity of direction through high‐quality briefs, user stories, documentation and communication, guiding development with purpose and aligning stakeholders across the business.

What are we looking for?

  • Proven experience owning digital products in a tech‐enabled or service‐oriented environment.
  • A commercially minded product thinker who blends customer empathy with strong business acumen.
  • Strong strategic capability, combined with hands‐on delivery experience in a cross‐functional team.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills – able to influence at all levels and work confidently with technical and non‐technical colleagues.
  • Comfort working in complex environments with multiple brands, systems and legacy constraints.
  • Fluency in user‐centred design principles, with a sharp eye for UX, learning experience and simplicity.
  • A pragmatic approach to Agile, focused on delivering outcomes and value rather than following process for its own sake.
  • Awareness of how AI tools (e.g. generative, predictive, assistive) can be applied to enhance user experience, learning effectiveness or operational efficiency.
  • Data fluency: comfortable using data and insight (product analytics, experiments, customer research and market data) to inform decisions, prioritise improvements and evaluate impact.

Experience in B2B, SaaS, e‐Learning and/or compliance is a bonus, but not essential.
