Primary And Secondary School Special Needs Teacher
Role Overview
We are seeking a qualified QTS Cover Teacher to support the delivery of ICT to small groups of students. The role involves teaching classes of up to 8 pupils, all of whom have a diagnosis of Autism and are working at or around Age-Related Expectations. The successful candidate will provide structured, supportive, and engaging lessons that meet individual learning needs while maintaining a calm and positive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver planned ICT lessons to small groups in line with the curriculum
- Adapt teaching strategies to support students with Autism and varying learning needs
- Maintain high standards of behaviour, engagement, and routine
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support learning
- Work closely with support staff and follow guidance from the school and department
- Uphold safeguarding, behaviour, and SEND policies at all times
- Contribute positively to the wider school environment during the placement
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching ICT or confidence delivering ICT at secondary level
- Experience working with students with Autism or additional needs (desirable)
- Calm, patient, and adaptable teaching approach
- Strong classroom management and communication skills
