Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Performance Information Team who are seeking to appoint an experienced data quality assistant to support the Information Team and the Validators. This will be achieved by providing a range of comprehensive, confidential tasks to support the validation of data and correction of any data quality errors.
The successful candidate will assist in the identification and rectification of data quality errors as identified from various reports, telephone calls and e-mails. They will also support the Validators, answering queries from phone calls and emails relating to GP registrations and will assist in the provision of support and advice to UHP users on Data Quality and iPM issues.
The post holder will assist in the administration of data quality reports and communicating issues to the Service Line Teams and updating information reports. They will alsoprovide administrative support to the DQ Team, the wider Performance Information Team and Data Quality Steering Group.
Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS at Risk staff throughout Devon who is able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
Main duties of the job
iPM is the main hospital patient administration system, comprising of approximately 2000 users and one million confidential patient records. The system holds basic information on patient demographics and detailed operational information and coding. This system interfaces with numerous other Trust Systems, which mostly all require Data Quality support.
This post is a part of a professional team working within the Performance and Information Management Department. The key responsibilities of this role are to work with the Information Team and with the Validators.
There will be an expectation that the job holder will be required to work in roles relating to Information Provision and Data Quality, within the remit of this job description. To include running reports, initiating email and telephone contact to service users, and supporting the rectification of data quality errors and validation of data.
Data Quality plays an important role to the Trust in identifying potential information errors on the patient's record. These errors impact patient safety, patient care, Trust statutory targets, income via PbR (Payment by Results) and the overall quality of data collected within the organisation.

Job responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES & AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
Assists in the administration of data quality reports, including correction of errors and communication of issues to the relevant operational teams.
Weekly update of the Data Quality Performance Monitoring reports.
Cover of the Data Quality and GP Helpline on a daily basis, including regularly checking and completing requests via the Data Quality answerphone and team email account.
Monthly validation and correction of SUS (Secondary Uses Service) GP data.
Assists with the Teams Information Governance Toolkit agenda.
Attend the Data Quality Steering Group and provide administrative support.
Liaising with the iPM Management Team to discuss iPM Data Quality issues
Validates and updates GP and Demographics using SCR (Summary Care Record).
Assists in the investigation and rectification of data quality issues in a timely manner, ensuring Trust targets are met, whilst liaising with administration teams and management.
Actively communicate urgent and ad-hoc data quality issues to the Service Line Teams.
Provides other administrative support to the Data Quality Team.
Update reports and dashboards supporting the Information Analysts, including use of Excel.
Use SQL Server Management Studio to extract Trust information and update records.
Regularly check the Docman system to ensure that all electronic rejected discharges are dealt with in an appropriate and timely fashion.
Assist from a Data Quality perspective with the implementation of any future EPR system.
Updating the RTT huddle slides with the latest LUNA national data quality position.
