This is a flexible, hybrid role and can be based from either of our offices in Peterborough, Manchester, Chesterfield, Stoke or Sunderland. We also have largely remote options available.
Role Purpose:
As Demand & Capacity Analyst, you are responsible for the day-to-day operation of Technology’s planning and forecasting processes. You ensure demand, capacity, utilisation, and dependency information is accurate, timely, and ready for use across squads, shared services, and partners. You provide the insight and operational discipline that supports predictable and transparent planning, helping teams understand what work is coming, what capacity exists, and where risks may arise.
Working alongside the Principal Demand & Capacity Manager, you contribute analytical depth, coordinated information flow, and high-quality reporting that strengthens decision-making across Technology. The role partners closely with Delivery Managers, Change/PMO, Technology divisions, and partner teams to maintain clarity, alignment, and confidence in planning.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Demand Management & Intake Operations
• Coordinate the intake process to ensure demand is captured, validated, and structured consistently
• Analyse incoming work to identify effort, required skills, scope, and potential impact on capacity
• Produce demand summaries, dashboards, and insight packs to support planning
Capacity & Utilisation Insight
• Maintain accurate capacity and utilisation data across squads, shared services, and partner teams
• Provide updated capacity information to support roadmap reviews and planning cycles
Roadmap & Planning Support
• Consolidate roadmap updates from Delivery Managers, Change/PMO, Technology divisions, and partner teams into unified views
• Produce roadmap packs, health checks, and visuals used in planning and leadership forums
Dependency & Risk Tracking
• Maintain a clear, accurate register of cross-team and cross-partner dependencies
• Produce dependency heatmaps, summaries, and trend analysis to support early intervention
Timecard Forecasting & Insights
• Monitor timecard completeness, utilisation accuracy, and forecast adherence across Technology
• Produce regular utilisation, forecast-vs-actual, and variance reporting to support decision-making
Partner & Third -Party Coordination
• Track partner allocation, capacity, and alignment against Technology roadmaps
• Monitor utilisation and surface partner-related risks, constraints, or delivery impacts
• Prepare structured data and insight for supplier planning and performance reviews
Reporting, Tooling & Data Quality
• Maintain dashboards, trackers, templates, and data models used across planning and forecasting
Operational Governance & Support
• Ensure work meets governance criteria before progressing through planning stages
• Maintain audit trails, decision logs, and supporting documentation
• Prepare pre-reads, updates, and concise summaries for planning, governance, and operational forums
Key Skills, Experience & Knowledge:
• Strong analytical skills with experience interpreting and presenting complex data
• Experience in planning, PMO, delivery operations, resource forecasting, or similar environments
• Confidence using modelling tools, spreadsheets, reporting dashboards, and planning systems
• Understanding of demand, capacity, forecasting, and delivery planning processes
• Strong communication skills, able to translate data into meaningful insight for different audiences
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and proactively identify risks or issues
