SOX Tester
Your Company: NET Recruit are delighted to be partnering with a well-established, internationally recognised organisation who are seeking an Interim SOX Tester to support their risk and compliance function on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to join a complex, fast-paced business with a strong control environment and a clear commitment to robust governance.This role is primarily remote, with a requirement to attend the London office two days per week, and is offered on an interim contract at £400 per day.The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the SOX programme, providing independent assurance over the design and operating effectiveness of key controls, while also contributing to wider internal audit and risk activities as required.Your Roles and Responsibilities While in this role your duties may include but are not limited to:
- Performing SOX testing in line with the annual SOX plan, covering both business process and IT controls
- Assessing the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls and documenting results clearly and concisely
- Identifying control deficiencies, assessing their impact, and supporting management with remediation plans
- Performing walkthroughs with process owners to gain an understanding of end-to-end processes and control frameworks
- Supporting management and external auditors with SOX-related queries and evidence requests
- Contributing to internal audit reviews outside of SOX, including operational, financial, and compliance audits
- Maintaining clear and accurate working papers in line with professional internal audit standards
- Building effective working relationships with stakeholders across finance, operations, and IT
- Proven experience delivering SOX testing within a large or complex organisation
- A strong understanding of internal control frameworks, ideally including COSO
- Previous experience within internal audit, risk, or assurance functions
- The ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a part-time, interim capacity
- Strong communication skills, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders remotely and in person
- A professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIA) is desirable but not essential
