2nd Line Support Engineer (In-house)
Our client is a well-established UK technology services business for an in-house IT 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their Internal IT team in Solihull.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting end users face-to-face, and improving the day-to-day IT experience for colleagues across the business.
What you’ll be doing- Delivering 2nd line support (phone, email and in person)
- Troubleshooting and resolving hardware/software issues
- Managing laptops, mobile devices and peripherals
- Setting up new starters (device build/config, access, onboarding support)
- Administering Active Directory and Microsoft 365 (incl. Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint)
- Working tickets in a service desk tool, meeting SLAs and keeping users updated
- Supporting maintenance, updates and contributing ideas to improve support processes
- Escalating effectively when needed and following IT/security policies
- Proven experience in an IT support / service desk environment (ideally 2nd line)
- Strong Windows + Microsoft Office support skills
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Active Directory
- Basic networking troubleshooting knowledge
- Experience with ticketing systems and a customer-first approach
- Great communication and the confidence to support colleagues in person
- macOS exposure and cybersecurity awareness are a bonus
