2nd Line Engineer

Role - 2nd Line IT Engineer + Projects Location - Horsham, West Sussex Industry - Managed Service Provider (MSP)Employment Type - Full-time

We're representing an MSP in the south looking for an experienced and proactive 2nd Line IT Engineer to join their MSP team. Their ideal candidate will provide high-quality technical support to clients while also assisting with infrastructure and project delivery. This role suits someone who thrives in a dynamic, multi-client environment and enjoys balancing day-to-day support with hands-on project work.

The key responsibilities you will in this role are..

• Provide 2nd line technical support via phone, remote tools, and onsite visits.
• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated incidents, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
• Support and implement IT infrastructure projects, including migrations, upgrades, and deployments.
• Maintain and monitor client systems, networks, and security environments.
• Document technical issues, fixes, and project progress in line with internal processes.
• Collaborate with 1st and 3rd line engineers to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Contribute to continuous improvement and client satisfaction initiatives.

Requirements from you need to be the following:

• 2+ years' experience in an MSP or similar fast-paced IT environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Azure, networking, and virtualisation.
• Experience with backup, security, and monitoring tools.
• Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and client service skills.
• Relevant IT certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco) desirable.
• Full UK driving licence preferred.
