What you'll do:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts for multiple entities, including conducting detailed variance analysis and providing insightful commentary to senior stakeholders.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a dedicated finance team of three professionals to achieve both departmental and organisational objectives in a supportive environment.

  • Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes by managing journal preparation, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations with precision.

  • Drive the budgeting and forecasting processes by collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate and timely submissions that align with business goals.

  • Monitor, analyse, and report on key financial metrics while identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to support overall business performance.

  • Provide comprehensive financial modelling and scenario analysis to inform strategic planning and investment decisions for the organisation.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust financial controls, processes, and procedures that guarantee accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Partner with non-finance stakeholders across the business by providing guidance and training aimed at improving financial literacy throughout the organisation.

  • Collaborate effectively with external auditors and contribute meaningfully to the preparation of statutory accounts when required.

  • Prepare ad hoc reports and analysis to support strategic projects or decision-making initiatives as directed by senior management.

What you bring:

  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA accompanied by significant post-qualification experience in management accounting within a complex business setting.

  • Advanced analytical skills enabling you to interpret complex financial data accurately and communicate findings clearly to both finance and non-finance colleagues.

  • Expertise in Excel alongside hands-on experience using major finance systems such as SAP or Oracle for efficient data management.

  • Excellent organisational abilities allowing you to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while consistently meeting critical deadlines.

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills that foster effective communication at all levels within the organisation as well as externally with auditors.

  • High attention to detail coupled with a commitment to accuracy in all aspects of financial reporting and control processes.

  • Experience working within the IT industry would be advantageous but is not essential for success in this role.
