Overview
We are seeking an EAD Technician to support the secure handling, decommissioning, disposal, and re-use of IT hardware within a large data centre environment. The role involves maintaining accurate asset records, upholding strict chain-of-custody processes, and ensuring compliance with security and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Process and document decommissioned IT hardware, including removal and secure handling of hard drives.
Maintain accurate databases, spreadsheets, and systems (e.g., SHREDD, ServiceNow).
Ensure secure storage, chain of custody, and compliant disposal or re-use of assets.
Prepare and manage manifests, paperwork, and approvals for equipment movement and destruction.
Support vendor visits, collections, access permits, and on-site destruction activities.
Liaise with logistics, risk, and asset management teams to keep records up-to-date.
Operate scanning tools and destruction equipment (e.g., hard-drive guillotine) safely and correctly.
Provide auditable evidence of completed tasks and support periodic reporting.
Follow all company H&S, security, attendance, uniform, and admin procedures.
Skills & Experience
Strong computer literacy, especially Excel, SharePoint, and database inputting.
Experience with ICT hardware handling and dismantling.
Familiarity with SHREDD, Splunk, ServiceNow, or similar systems (advantageous).
Excellent attention to detail, compliance focus, and communication skills.
Good understanding of safety procedures within technical or data centre environments.
