IT Support Engineer Apprentice

Thrive Co-Operative Learning Trust are seeking an enthusiastic IT Support Engineer Apprentice to join their dedicated IT team. This role offers hands-on experience across all schools within the Trust, supporting staff and pupils with IT services and equipment.

Role

  • Preparing IT areas and performing daily hardware checks
  • Maintaining IT consumables and asset registers
  • Providing technical support and resolving IT issues
  • Assisting with presentations and equipment setup
  • Managing user accounts and password resets
  • Supporting reprographics and paper stock management
  • Creating ID cards and managing access systems
  • Escalating technical issues to senior engineers
  • Demonstrating commitment to professional development

This new Microsoft apprenticeship is part of QA's drive to support Microsoft’s Get On 2021 campaign, a five-year initiative to help 1.5 million people build careers in technology and help 300,000 connect to tech job opportunities.

QA’s Azure Cloud Support Specialist Level 3 apprenticeship programme enables the apprentice to:

  • Learn on-premises and cloud-enabled technologies and services
  • Learn technical content that aligns to and is relevant to employers and the market
  • Gain an Azure Fundamentals Qualification and a Microsoft 365 fundamentals qualification
  • Get an introduction to Windows, Linux and PowerShell

Tools and technologies learned: Learners will learn to use Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Windows 10, AWS, Linux, PowerShell.

This apprenticeship offers a pathway to a long-term career in IT within the education sector. Successful candidates may progress into permanent IT support roles or further technical training, with opportunities to work across multiple schools and develop specialist expertise.
