This is an exciting opportunity to join WWL as a Senior Workforce Information Analyst, playing a pivotal role in shaping our digital workforce future.
People Services Division | 37.5 hours | Based at Buckingham Row, Wigan
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to complete a short technical assessment as part of the selection process. This will be proportionate to the role and designed to assess analytical and data-handling skills relevant to the post.
Main duties of the job
About the Role
As a key member of the Workforce Analytics & Systems Team, you will lead on the provision of high-quality workforce data, reporting, and system optimisation across the Trust.
You will work closely with the Digital Workforce & Informatics Lead and the Assistant Director of Workforce Transformation to support strategic decision-making, workforce planning, compliance and delivery of the People Strategy.
This role includes:
- Leading the development of innovative data dashboards (Power BI/Qlik) with narrative-driven insight
- Ensuring ESR and all workforce systems are optimised, accurate and fully integrated
- Providing expert analysis to support recruitment, retention, absence, wellbeing and EDI workforce priorities
- Managing data integrity, quality assurance and audit processes
- Supporting statutory returns (e.g. WRES, WDES, PWR, NWRS)
- Leading on workforce systems training, capability-building and digital workforce improvements
- Managing and developing a Workforce Information Analyst
This is a highly influential role, supporting conversations at Executive, Divisional and system level.
You must be available to travel between the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh sites as required by business needs.

Significant experience in workforce data analysis, data visualisation or systems administration
Advanced analytical skills, including managing large datasets, trend analysis and complex reporting

Proven experience using ESR or similar systems, including upgrades and optimisation

Qualifications
- Educated to a degree level in relevant subject or able to demonstrate significant experience in system administration within a workforce data setting
- Evidence of further development - education/training
- Evidence of continuous professional development. Project management qualification
Experience
- Significant experience or education in data analysis or data visualisation.
- Experience in developing quality assurance processes to ensure accurate data reporting.
- Significant experience of providing and presenting workforce information to senior management.
- Experience of writing and developing reports for management.
- Experience of working with competing priorities often with tight deadlines and/or given at short notice.
- Significant experience of using a variety of computer packages including excel, access to an advanced level.
- Significant experience of managing large datasets, employing a range of methods to extract, manipulate and report on information.
- Significant experience of analysing information and trends in order to explain patterns in data.
- Significant experience of dealing with system migration, maintenance and upgrades.
