Receptionist - Adhoc and Holiday Cover
We are working with a leading global technology organisation based in Thames Valley Park who are seeking a professional and personable Receptionist to provide ad hoc cover during peak periods, including short notice assistance and planned holiday cover throughout the year. This role is ideal for someone looking for flexible work who thrives in a corporate front of house setting and enjoys being the welcoming face of a busy office.
About the Role
As the first point of contact for staff and visitors, you will ensure the reception area runs smoothly and professionally. You will support the front of house and facilities team with a range of duties, providing a calm and efficient service at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Greeting staff and visitors and delivering a warm, professional welcome
- Operating a fairly quiet switchboard and directing calls politely and efficiently
- Managing meeting room bookings and ensuring rooms are clean, tidy and prepared
- Organising couriers and booking taxis when required
- Monitoring and ordering stationery and maintaining stock levels
- Coordinating catering requests for meetings with the in-house catering team
- Operating office equipment including printers, photocopiers and franking machines
- Using Outlook to manage meeting schedules and booking requests
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in a receptionist or front of house role is highly desirable
- Confident communicating with staff at all levels, including C-suite executives
- Friendly, approachable manner with excellent customer service skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask
- Confident using Microsoft Outlook and general office equipment
- Reliable, well-presented and professional at all times
