Desktop Support Engineer
Job Title: IT Floorwalker / Desktop Support Location: Various sites in Sussex Day Rate: £170 per day - Ltd Company (Outside IR35) or PAYE Umbrella Working Hours: 07:00-15:00 and 11:00-19:00 Mon-Fri Duration: 1 month initially Start Date: ASAP Role: We are searching for a team of IT Floorwalkers / Desktop Support Engineers to support a userbase in Sussex following a large IT project.Aside from possessing a good technical grasp of the desktop support environment, excellent customer service skills are required as you will be interacting with users in a face-to-face capacity, so empathy, patience and a friendly persona are vital to this role.There is a requirement to attend multiple sites in and around Sussex, so a valid licence and access to a vehicle is essential. Main Duties:
- Attend sites during system rollouts to support users with any desktop related technical issues they may have
- Conduct regular walkarounds, actively seeking out potential issues and support opportunities
- Respond to queries from users appropriately and in a timely manner
- Keep record of issues arising that are not already accounted for in troubleshooting guides
- Regular reporting with the project team, resolving any outstanding issues
- Light-touch training of users with new processes
- Proven experience in desktop support
- Good knowledge of operating systems and the user environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Patient & understanding when providing support
- Good problem solving skills
- Excellent customer service
- This role will involve visiting multiple sites in and around Sussex, so a valid licence and access to a vehicle is essential
